Avoiding supplemental anti-oxidant intake in the peri-workout period would be wise as some of the benefits of resistance training require the inflammatory response for beneficial outcomes.


Attempting to lower ROS/RNS periworkout via antioxidant supplementation potentially hinders beneficial adaptations.


These results suggest that chronic antioxidant supplementation (such as Vitamin E and Vitamin C) can mitigate strength training related improvements of body composition.
