Kalua Pork Recipe

High Protein, Low Calorie
Thought you guys might like our Kalua pork recipe. If you choose pork tenderloin (not loin), you’ll have a high protein, low calorie, very flavorful food option.

Kalua Pork is so easy to make, but so incredibly full of flavor. This pork is served as a staple at luaus here in Hawaii, and Allan and I grew to love it right away.

I buy the pork tenderloin that comes 2 per package. Cut your tendy into 1-2″ cubes and then add equal parts liquid smoke and salt (I use about 20g of each). Let that marinate for about 30 mins.

Once it’s done marinating, add it to your instant pot or crock pot and pour 1 cup of cold water over top. Set your IP for 21 mins on sealed or your crockpot on high for 8 hrs. Press start and walk away.

Once it’s finished cooking, transfer the pork and some of the reserved cooking liquid to a serving dish and shred with 2 forks. I like to eat mine with black beans, but it’s great with rice, on top of a salad, or with zoodles, too. You won’t need to add any sauce to this, either, because it’s incredibly flavorful.

Enjoy!
