Omega‐3 Dietary Recommendations
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) of fish oil are beneficial for a myriad of reasons. These active ingredients are not the same as total Omega-3 content. I recommend a combined 2-3g/day of EPA+DHA for maximum benefits and minimum risks based on the breadth of research.
When in doubt, blood tests are warranted to monitor blood levels of EPA and DHA.
